01 About UUST
Security starts with a neighbourhood that looks after itself.
The Upper Umhlanga Security Trust is a voluntary, donation-based Public Benefit Organisation created by and for Herrwood Park residents.
We add a proactive layer of safety in the streets and open areas around our homes—complementing, not replacing, private security for individual properties.
UUST is professionally audited every year and its finances are independently managed. Contributors receive annual donation certificates for tax deductions.

Cleaner public spaces
A full-time gardener maintains verges and shared spaces, helping keep the neighbourhood cared for and less conducive to crime.
Vehicle recognition cameras
NAVIC-enabled cameras monitor neighbourhood entrances and help flag vehicles linked to theft or crime.
